I also think B is the best choice out of all.

The International Space Station recently received two new solar panels, the largest solar arrays ever to be made, which would be increasing the space station's power fivefold, and are essential to further station construction and science experiments and will reflect enough light back to Earth to make the space station one of the brightest objects in the night sky.

A) which would be increasing the space station's power fivefold, and are essential to further station construction and science experiments and will reflect enough light back to Earth
B) which will increase the space station's power fivefold, are essential to further station construction and science experiments, and will reflect enough light back to Earth
C) so that the space station's power is increasing fivefold and this is essential to further station construction and science experiments and then they will reflect enough light back to Earth
D) scientists say will increase the space station's power fivefold, and they say will be essential to further station construction and science experiments, and it will happen that they reflect enough light back to Earth
E) causing there to be a fivefold increase in power at the space station, and more construction and science experiments, and also causing enough light to be reflected back to Earth

I'd go a little different and say 'E' is the most parallel and consistent answer, little wordy though.

E) causing there to be a fivefold increase in power at the space station, and more construction and science experiments, and also causing enough light to be reflected back to Earth

Why I think 'B' is the right answer,

B) which will increase the space station's power fivefold, are essential to further station construction and science experiments, and will reflect enough light back to Earth

i> Use of which is not right here, even if I remove the adjective phrase (the largest solar arrays ever to be made) and assume, 'which' is referring to 'solar panels', I don't think 'which' is the right conjunction.
ii> the part of the sentence "are essential to further station construction and science experiments" is very awkwardly placed and doesn't help us in understanding what is the subject of this sentence.

Generally I don't argue against any official answer, but somehow I don't have much confidence on the source from which this question has come.

I think E has more problems than B

E) causing there to be a fivefold increase in power at the space station, and more construction and science experiments, and also causing enough light to be reflected back to Earth

This is clearly a comma splice. Why is "and" needed with "more construction and science experiments"? I haven't seen any question so far in which "and also" was acceptable. I agree B is not the best option possible. It's, however, the best among all.

is there an exception to 'which' rule here, if B is the correct OA.

B seems to be the most correct one.

"which" modifies the preceding noun not word
