More completely adapted for life in the trees than are the other anthropoids, gibbons move with tremendous facility and ease.

(A) More completely adapted for life in the trees than are the other anthropoids,
(B) Adapted more completely for tree life than any of the anthropoids,
(C) Being adapted more completely to tree life than any of the other anthropoids are,
(D) Adapting more completely to life in the trees than the adaptation of the other anthropoids,
(E) Having a more complete adaptation to life in the trees than that possessed by the other anthropoids,

Gayathri

I will go with A on this one. I tried to rephrase it and see if the first part of the sentence work

"Gibbons are" More completely adapted for life in the trees than are the other anthropoids---this sounds right. At least better than other choices...

I wonder why D is wrong.
This is how I read it

gibbons (by elipsed) "Adapting more completely to life in the trees than the adaptation of the other anthropoids" move with tremendous facility and ease.

I guess probably more completely killed this choice

D is wrong because participle, adapting, changes the original meaning. Adapting means as if the process of adaptation is in progress. However, adapted is more logical expression.
