A, B, and E fail because "they" cannot refer to anybody or anyone.

Is the use of
'Any people' at InterCom
correct?
This doesn't seem like a commonly used term although I agree that the other choices are grammatically wrong because of S-V agreement errors.

Only (B) and (D) have the correct tense. If sb had done sth, he(they) would have ...

(B) is singular and (D) is plural. I'd have chosen (B) if there isn't the word "they" later. "Any people" definitely sound worse than "anyone".

But I have to choose D since I need a plural.

Any people seems nonstandard but it is still better than anyone or anybody in this context.

I had picked B too, knowing that it has a S-V problem as the other possible choice D sounded more ackward.
