D it is

reason...because is redundant (A & B are out)

in C their doesn't follow subj-verb agreement(also turning is not parallel with thrive)

E -- being is incorrect usaage

"D"...because is redundant in A and B, C has subject-verb issue, E is passive. "which" is primarily used in nonrestrictive clauses "that" is always used in restrictive clauses. As a general rule "which" is always preceded by a ",". There can be exceptions where which can also be used in restrictive clauses.

Vithal has nice approach because here the clue is the reason ......... because, which is redundant.

that vs which is a matter of restrictive or non-restrictive clause.

It is 'D'. Primarily because Reason ....because is redundant. Usage of Which & That is very relative. Both could be right depending on the sentence. Vital thanks for the link on WHICH V/s THAT.

this questions is not about usage of which vs that instead it is testing redundancy as vital correctly pointed out

reason is singular, so you need is. (E) is out. their roots is wrong, since winged bean is singular. You'll need its. A,C are out.

Left with B and D.
D is better. B uses 'because' which is redundant.

D it is.
