I have been reading this form since couple of weeks. It feels good to see that so many are helping each other. Based on some good advice here, I have started with Kaplan 2005. My goal is to achieve 7XX. I was able to correctly answer 70% of the CR questions, but SC is killing me.. I can only do 30% of the SC questions correctly.
Experts suggested here that try to read the answers and understand why it is right or wrong. For almost all the questions in CR I can understand why a answer is right or wrong, but for SC questions most of the time I can't understand the explainations in the Kapalan. It will not be that surprising if I say that English is not my mother tongue and I never had good relationship with the language.
Most of the answers mentioned the terms from english grammar so I decided to improve in those specific areas of my understaing of english grammar. I went to a public library found a book, called essentials english grammar, and read most of the relevant chapters, nonun-verb agreement, modifiers etc.
It felt better and I started again to solve the Kaplan problems. To my surprise and frustration if I may add, there was no improvement. I started analyzing again and found that I still don't understand why many of the ansers are right/wrong. Now, I am clueless.
Can someone be kind enogh to help me? What would be better book to improve my english grammer so that not only I can answer the questions correctly but can understand why a choice is wrong/right.
Thanks and Regards
Ashish
