A and E both are run on.

B is grammatically correct but the meaning is different.

We need comma(,) between adjectives.

D - No need of past continuous ....

c is fine.

How does "B" change the meaning. It just splits the IC in AC "C" into 2 ICs.

The OA is C.

So why do you think B is wrong??? I think the chronology of events is wrong in B.

I think B is grammatically correct but C is more efficient. GMAT answers are always the most efficient among two correct choices. So I'd pick C.

Actually, though there is no grammatical mistake with B...I agree with Ritesh, the chronology of events is more "smoother" in C....that is why C probably makes sense over B...

at first I thought it's B, then I figured B is wordy and C is the only correct option.
