E Wrong -- sub and verb disagree. "are" should be "is" --- "make" should be "makes" B (1) the reason and because -- redundant. (2) changes the meaning of orginal sentence. Ofshore oil drillling presents a considerable rsik but orginal sentence intention is "chronic low level leaking and routine discharge.... presents considerable risk". D) (1) changes the meaning of original sentene as discussed in B (2) "due to the fact of" is wordy and can be replaced by "because of" C - "where" refers to oildrilling.. which is incorrect.
