B is best.
A and D are eliminated because "such as" is needed when you are listing examples.
C and E are eliminated because of "being"

B is correct.

"who focus" is correct usage. Elimate A and E.
C uses "focussed" which is wrong.
"like those of" in D is wrong.

B.

(A) "focusing in" ..... and "like those of"....... are not correct.
(B) correct. "focus on such specialized areas as".........
(C) "focused" is wrong verb and "those of" ..... and .."being".. are unnecessary.
(D) "like" and many more -wrong.
(E) "having focused", "being" and many more - wrong...

OE:

Step One: Spot the Concept Tested
Verbs
Spot#2: The presence of underlined verbs indicates that verbs are being tested. "focusing" and "have been becoming" are verb phrases that should alert you to a verb error concept being tested.

Step Two: Check the Rule and Decide on a Fix
A verb must agree with the noun that is refers to and must use the appropriate tense. Look for an answer that doesn't begin with "focusing" and instead uses "who focus"

Step Three: Process of Elimination
Eliminate A and E

Step Four: Chunk and Compare
B versus C
"are becoming" versus "are being increasingly" Being is not as precise as becoming since we are talking about the event as laws grow complex.
Eliminate C
B versus D
"such ... as" versus "like those of"
Such as is correct here because it introduces an example. Like is used for comparison and there is no comparison being made.
