My answer is (E). I took me 1:08.

Firstly, "which have excellent picture quality" should be parallel with "which also consume less power". Eliminate A and B.

Secondly, for singular subject "increase", its verb should be "accounts for" as opposed to "account for". Eliminate C.

Last, in (D), "the rest of which" may be interpreted as "the rest of last year" or "the rest of revenues" or "the rest of increase". It is rather ambiguous. (E), in contrast, is much clearer. Eliminate D and choose E.

E

I was between C and E due to the ending ( it came vs. increases coming) and ultimately chose E because 'it' is unclear.

According to the country’s largest television manufacturer, increase in sales of its LED televisions, which have excellent picture quality and they also consume less power, accounts for most of the 120% increase in revenues that the company experienced last year, the rest of it coming from sales of LCD and plasma televisions.

Subject of main clause - Increase (in sales) - singular

other subject - LED TV's - plural

(A) they also consume less power, accounts for most of the 120% increase in revenues that the company experienced last year, the rest of it coming - breaks //m and it is ambiguos

(B) they also consume less power, account for most of the 120% increase in revenues that the company experienced last year, the rest of which came - SV error and //m error

(C) which also consumes less power, account for most of the 120% increase in revenues that the company experienced last year; the rest of it came - SV error

(D) which also consume less power, accounts for most of the 120% increase in revenues that the company experienced last year, the rest of which came - which is wrong used as pronoun

(E) which also consume less power, accounts for most of the 120% increase in revenues that the company experienced last year, the rest of the increase coming

(A) they also consume less power, accounts for most of the 120% increase in revenues that the company experienced last year, the rest of it coming Incorrect

(B) they also consume less power, account for most of the 120% increase in revenues that the company experienced last year, the rest of which came Incorrect

(C) which also consumes less power, account for most of the 120% increase in revenues that the company experienced last year; the rest of it came Incorrect

Eliminate B & C - increase singular, account plural
Eliminate A - parallelism error: ...............which have........and they also........, .....

Between D & E -

Eliminate D - 'the rest of which' refers what?

Answer E

(A) they also consume less power, accounts for most of the 120% increase in revenues that the company experienced last year, the rest of it coming
"they" refers to "television". However, "which" should be used to keep parallelism. Drop.

(B) they also consume less power, account for most of the 120% increase in revenues that the company experienced last year, the rest of which came
Same as A. Drop.

(C) which also consumes less power, account for most of the 120% increase in revenues that the company experienced last year; the rest of it came
"it" is ambiguous. It can refer to the company or the increase of revenue. Drop.

(D) which also consume less power, accounts for most of the 120% increase in revenues that the company experienced last year, the rest of which came
"rest of which" is ambiguous. "which" in "which also consume" refers to television. However, the intended meaning should be the rest of the increase in revenue. Drop.

(E) which also consume less power, accounts for most of the 120% increase in revenues that the company experienced last year, the rest of the increase coming
The meaning is clear.

The non-underlined portion "which have" confirms that the subject is plural. So C is eliminated.

A) "it coming" it- has ambiguous pronoun referent. Eliminated.

(B) "Which" has ambiguous pronoun referent. Eliminated.

(C) "Consumes" is not parallel with the plural subject. The problem is "it" it- has ambiguous pronoun referent. Eliminated.

(D) "Which" has ambiguous pronoun referent. Eliminated.

(E) which also consume less power, accounts for most of the 120% increase in revenues that the company experienced last year, the rest of the increase coming. Correct.

The answer is E

Official Explanation:

Answer: E

The sentence needs to start with which to parallel the which used earlier in the sentence — which have X and which do Y. The singular subject increase requires the singular verb accounts. Thus A, B and C are out.

In the phrase ‘the rest of which’ in D, it is not clear what which is referring to. E makes it clear by replacing which with increase, and is the correct answer.

in A and B - usage of 'they' introduces parallelism error

in C - 'consumes' and 'account' introduce S-V errors

in D - last sentence should work as noun + noun modifier but due to 'came' it is working as a clause. usage of 'which' is also not correct.

choice E corrects both the errors of choice D by replacing 'came' with coming and 'which' with 'the increase'.
