The broken leg belongs to the horse not the jockey, so A and B are out.
C says that jockey had to be destroyed, however, it should be the horse. Thus, C is out too.
D is a run on sentence. We need the commas for the relative clause.

A should be it. nothing wrong with it.
B - same as A but would prefer the comma after horse in A
C, D, E says the horse has a broken leg...how can a jockey race it then?? Dump 'em
