first time I am hearing participles being active and passive..

I think I overthought this one...it's a simple case a parallelism correct?

FOr some reason "found" and "resembling" didn't sound parallel to me when I was going through the test..

in the other choices, there is no need for "that." we need and because its a coordinating conjuction, both descriptions are equal in importance.

A is wrong because of two reasons

that is not really need and resembles does not match with 30 years past event.
