Just curious...Is the following sentence correct?

"that Nubians combined artstic elements from Egypt and those from sub-Saharan Africa"

Additionally, and we need THE Nubians. D is correct.

Can someone explain why THE is necessary.
To me, both D and E seem correct!

Also,
combined X with Y
combined X and Y
Are both idiomatic?

Thanks

(D) is my choice. A 'that' to complete the sentence. Also you need a 'with those' to join artistic elements from Egypt.

I believe you combine 'x' with 'y'; that's how i picked D over E

I chose D as well because it is indiomatic. I agree that "The Nubians" is better than "Nubians", but can anyone tell me why?

Without the use of 'that', it would sound as though the exhibition of art from Nubia has somehow made Nubians clearer.

The pronoun those correctly refers to artistic elements. I will go w/D.
