Yeah Saumster, it's probably better not to post the OAs upfront because it deters other members from actively participating in the discussion/topic/issue at hand. Another reason why E is wrong is because Earth is a proper noun in this case and therefore must be preceeded by the definate article "the."

Galileo's theory that the Earth...

Please refrain from posting OA along with the question.
Let everybody have a discussion and then you can give the OA as well as your own views.
Keep posting and participating.

I think that facts/theories should be stated in present tense and not in past...

Shouldn't B at fault for this.... Your comments Gaurav...

Good point. If you look at the break up of the sentence :

Galileo’s theory that ours was indeed a solar system, in which Earth and other planets revolve around the sun, reinforced that of Copernicus.

The fact in blue still maintains the present tense.
The theory was given in past so I guess it's ok to use past tense here.
I am myself convinced 100% of the structure.

Woah! "the" before a proper noun? Where did you learn that rule...please cite so I can read it too. I'm still not convinced of B. I myself raised sumit's questions about "was a solar system" so it isn't now?

This could however be explained as that the theory was formed in the past doesn't reflect if its valid or not now.
