This one may look intimidating at first, but it's actually quite easy if you know the trick. 8-)

The miners developed a rare case of pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis after being exposed to quartzite.

a. The miners developed a rare case of pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis after being exposed to quartzite.

b. The miners developed a rare case of pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconioses after being exposed to quartzite.

c. The miners developed a rare case of pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis after exposed to quartzite.

d. The miners developed a rare case of pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconioses after exposure to quartzite.

e. The miners developed a rare case of pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconioses after having been exposed to quartzite.

I saw a minute difference between A an B. Though my pick is A, but first i was like why the hell is A listed twice meaning B.

Diff in A: pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis
in B:pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconioses
-is and -es

A disease or illness typically sounds like paralysis (sorry bad example)
But my pick A :) and yes like Sangarelli pointed out -es is plural

Will wait for OA

I am with D.

pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis or 'es' shoudl be singular, since it says "rare case" and not "cases".

Matt, wat is teh OA?

"being" wasn't dangling at the end...

Also, "being" is not always 100% wrong on SCs (then again I am no SC guru). Although it may be imperfect, A is the best answer choice among the lot.

a rare case of...
so B,D and E are out.
Between A and C: after exposed is clearly wrong.
So by POE, A.
