weird one...has been posted earlier few times

A, B and C are wrong because they use 'it' and 'them' that dont have clear referrent

D is passive

E is correct answerr

No D is active as it conveys action settlers did something.

E is passive.

The later part of the sentence remains same for both sentences.

Waw this is good one.

Didn't know making/make do is a proper idiom.

Making do without gmat club is hard.

OA is D. No OE is available is as this is from ETS paper test

I have been speaking English for a long time ,have never come across any1 using making do :(

Unfortunately for me D and E were the 1st 2 options I struck out :beat
