Just searched on Google...
Both "dated at" and "dated to be" have been used extensively in various news articles/other documents...Any idea where can we get an authorotative view on the above? :?

A. has been dated to be 3.47 billion years old and thus is
B. has been dated at 3.47 billion years old and thus
C. have been dated to be 3.47billion years old and thus are

dated at + years old ~ is the standard.

The fossils dated at almost 50 million years old proved to be the missing evolutionary link between the Dinosaur and the Komodo Dragon.

I picked C. Didn't know dated-at is idiomatic. Well...one more to the idioms list!
