The limon club dance company promises that, since the death of Jose Limon in 1972, they have and will faithfully continue to present the shared artistic vision if Liomon and his mentor and collaborator Doris Humphrey

A...
B. they have and will continue to present faithfully Limon and his mentor and collaborator Doris Humphrey's shared artistic vision
C it has and will continue to present faithfully the shared artisitc vision of Limon and his mentor and collaborator Doris Humphrey
D. it has faithfully been continuing to present the artistic vision that Limon and his mentor and collaborator Doris Humphrey shared
E it will continue to present faithfully the shared artistic vision of Limon and his mentor and collaborator Doris Humphrey

It's D.

Use of "since" requires present perfect tense.

The limon club dance company promises that, since the death of Jose Limon in 1972, it has faithfully been continuing to present the artistic vision that Limon and his mentor and collaborator Doris Humphrey shared.

I personally thought that it should be E because when the company is promising that it will continue, it means that it has already been doing it...
so why use has and will continue, it can be replaced by will continue.

Anyways thats just my thought and I could be wrong too.

OA is E..

Good job guys..

OE: "have" and "will continue to" are both parts of the verb. Both must go with perpetuate But you can't say "they have.. perpeturate" as A and D do. Neither can you say "it has.. perpetuate" as C does. D 's "it had perpetuated and will continue perpetuating" is grammatical but too wordy and awkward.

Hey

I went in for the usual mistake C and D.

But after splittin the sentence again....I can c the obvious mistake..

the club promises that "it will continue" makes sense....

the club promises that it has.....doesnt make sense...

any comments..??

I think both of you are right.

have can't be used with perpetuating verbs. GREAT point i learnt long time ago but forgot.

and by looking at "promises", "have been doing sth" is wrong here.
