Someone pls let me know why option A is wrong ?
Hope you realized Priyanshi that Interventional radiology (IR) has three advantages:

i) enables minimally invasive surgery,
ii) reduces patient healing time, and
iii) makes it possible for physicians trained as radiologist to perform procedures that would otherwise have taken years of surgical training

Option B uses parallelism to illustrate the above three advantages (IR enables.., reduces…, and makes…; this parallelism is due to the presence of verbs "enables", "reduces", and "makes").

Option A on the other hand has the following structure from a parallelism perspective:

Interventional radiology -

i) is used for producers such as angiogram
ii) enables minimally invasive surgery
iii) reduces patient healing time, and
iv) makes it possible for physicians trained as radiologist to perform procedures that would otherwise have taken years of surgical training.

IR is.., enables…, reduces.., and makes; this parallelism is due to the presence of verbs "is", "enables", "reduces", and "makes".

This is not really a great construct because the fact that IR is used for producers such as angiogram, is more of a feature than an advantage of IR. So, it doesn’t make a great sentence to have this feature clubbed with advantages of IR.

Btw, hope you realized that "used" in B is not a verb but a past participle.

We can attack the question using the split like vs such as so E is OFF

However, the above helps not that much. better to focus on also on the parallelism of the verbs

(A) radiology is used for producers such as angiogram, enables minimally invasive surgery, reduces patient healing time, and makes

(B) radiology, used for producers such as angiogram, enables minimally invasive surgery, reduces patient healing time, and makes

(C) radiology, used for producers such as angiogram, enables minimally invasive surgery, reduces patient healing time, making

(D) radiology is used for producers such as angiogram, enables minimally invasive surgery, reduces patient healing time, making

Now we do have only two options

(A) radiology is used for producers such as angiogram, enables minimally invasive surgery, reduces patient healing time, and makes

(B) radiology, used for producers such as angiogram, enables minimally invasive surgery, reduces patient healing time, and makes

As per the meaning, radiology does something of useful IN THE PROCESS I.E enables, reduces , and makes

Saying instead is used for such as X, enables, reduces, and makes has little sense..........

B is the right choice

Hello,

please why are we eliminating option C? why can't the '' making it possible for physicians trained as radiologist to perform procedures that would otherwise have taken years of surgical training.'' be a consequence of the first 2 points, thus maintaining the use ing form?

Even substituting the correct answer into this sentence, it is not very close to being in English. The writer doesn't seem to know when to use singular and when to use plural (it's wrong twice about that), and when it says "producers" it surely means "procedures". What is the source? Unless the question has been transcribed incorrectly, I wouldn't use a source for SC that thinks this sentence, even using answer B, is fine as written.

edit: I found a BTG thread from 2015 about this question that indicates the source. In the post in that thread, two of the three errors I point out above are not present, so I think the question hasn't been copied here correctly, but even with those mistakes fixed, there are still two clear errors with the OA, so it's not a good question.
