Agree with others on A.

At 1st sight it may seem that because C is shorter and conveys the same meaning as A, it is better, but indeed the sentence needs "today" to clearly establish the contrast, as buzzgaurav stated. Late but A.

i would go with A

Cross out C because it doesn't make the correct contrast
Cross out D because of the placement of estimated
Cross out E because the cause and effect relationship(because) is placed in the wrong place
Cross out B because of the placement of today
