The answer is B, although I still don't see why E doesn't fit. Politicians live in these districts - so what? We know nothing about politicians from this text, so their presence is irrelavent.

hi i feel choice e is incorrect due to the following

the passage says complaints are more in high scoring districts.

now it does not matter from where these are coming as long as there are more complaints in these high scoring districts. for all we know these activists could be parents. their expectations growing every day with the performance levels (if not for them we would not be fighting for 750+ to get a good B school :-) )

hope this helps

These questions are always confusing to me, so I try to rephrase the question...really we are looking for something that weakens the argument, or more precisely something that does not support the argument...I do not like the word except....

This one was fairly obvious because B The parents no nothing does nothing for or against the argument. All of the rest of them make sense...but parents knowing nothing does well nothing, and so is the most correct answer.

Comparison beteen (B) and (E)

Politicians do not have anything to do with the school other than making an issue for their political career, but those parents do not know their childrens' score can comment on the achivement of the school because their kids are studing in that school and they are associated with the school through their kids. Therefore, I believe (E) should be the answer.

I think B is the answer because it talks of parents in general. All other options talks of parents in high scoring districts.
