The team streamed into the locker room, donned their uniforms, and before commencing its first practice, they joined in a breif strategy session.
A)
B) and before commencing their first practice, they joined in a breif strategy session.
C) and before commencing their first practice, joined in a breif strategy session.

What is the correct answer? Do you think use of 'their' for singular 'team' is grammatically correct? This usage is present both in the passge and in the answer choices

I think both are incorrect instead of "their" "it" should be used here

anymore suggestions guys? :? :?

In GMAT, non-underlined part always follows the correct grammar.

Since it contains "..their uniforms" for team, this gives us the clue that team is being used as a "group of individuals" - more like "team members".

Replace "team" with "team members" and it becomes clear that C is the correct option.
