What is the correct answer? Do you think use of 'their' for singular 'team' is grammatically correct? This usage is present both in the passge and in the answer choices

C) and before commencing their first practice, joined in a brief strategy session. 

 Hence the answer is C.

I think both are incorrect instead of "their" "it" should be used here anymore suggestions guys?

In GMAT, non-underlined part always follows the correct grammar.

Since it contains "..their uniforms" for team, this gives us the clue that team is being used as a "group of individuals" - more like "team members".

Replace "team" with "team members" and it becomes clear that C is the correct option.
