Hi,

I have been practising my verbal areas for quite some time. Have given some practise tests but am unable to reach to the 40+ score in verbal. Always end up around 37.

Books i have finished :

1) Manhattan GMAT SC
2) OG 11
3) Priceton
4) Kaplan
5) Kaplan 800
6) Around 600 from 1000SC

Could anyone suggestt how to go from here. Am i missing some areas of prep. ?? I have about 2.5 weeks for test day.

I'm also in the same boat. Currently practicing with GMATTER . Will be taking up a practice test this weekend to gauge. My average verbal is 34-35.

Know its a bit difficult question to ask for a single solution to all problems..

what is your hit rate on 1000SC?

Just SC is not enough to do well on the Verbal.

Ajay,

SC:
Most of the SC questions follow a pattern .Example: corect usage of idioms, S-V agreement,IIlism, comparisions ..etc
Try to recognise the pattern. It improves the speed and accuracy.

CR:
same as above

RC:
Refer to Rhyme's post. Very helpful.

My first question is which area are you weak in?? sC or RC or CR??

depending on that i can suggest you some tools that will help you improve your score 3+ points

for RC..read the newspaper (WSJ, New England Journal of Medicine) and try to explain your girlfriend or friend or grandman what that article says...do it every day...on the train, at work..etc...do it for 2 weeks straight..

when you start really getting into the material you read..you will automatically know what the passage is asking etc.
