I picked E because of the "contrast...with" idiom, I did not know that there is an idiom for " In Contrast...to", can someone give me an example of the usage of this idiom....

The correct idiom is  contrast X with Y ..not In contrast with X,Y.
 In contrast to  is correct in this sentence.

In almost all the answers it says, symphonies demonstrate. It has to be a person to demonstrate something not symphonies. 
C, D and E say that symphonies demonstrate.

B uses a wrong comparison.

A does the right comparison and could be the only possible choice here.
