In this case, I think enormous acts a a subject because of the passive construction of the sentence. Since it is subject,

I go with C.

To me it looks like ...recalling stories of the years past is modifying albums and to maintain ||ism we again need +ing form. so we need C here

I think here the pronoun 'them' is referring to albums. So the clause which contains 'them' must parallel the earlier clause "recalling .. past". So C sounds the best to me. Whats the OA ?

Ok, I dont understand this. In this sentence recalling stories of years past, and created enormous interest are modifying "display board" right?

Why do we need a present participle for recalling and a past participle for created?

EDIT: I think I get it. adorned and created are modifying display board. recalling is modifying photographs or albums.
