Twenty years ago, on my graduation from law school, I would have like to have had the chance to join the partnership firm but the substantial investment required would have made such a move impossible.

A. I would have like to have had the chance to join.
B. I would like to have the chance to join
C. I like to have the chance to join
D. I will like to have had the chance to join
E. I would like to have had the chance to join

Although I am between B and E, I choose B (who can explain the difference between "to have had the chance" and "to have the chance", please elaborate on this)
A should be I would have liked
C&D present time twenty years ago

Nice one. Don't see too many of these types w/ multiple usage of has/had have had etc...

Ans A.

We are talking about a point 20 yrs ago. Also using the if then clause.

If I would have studied harder, I would have gotten into Harvard.

Here we use have had. had is the past participle.
B. suggests he can still have the chance
C. present tense wrong.
D. will gives the idea he still has the chance
E. incorrect usage of if then clauses. need have btwn would and like.

I will go with A eventhough I think it should be liked instead of like. What is the OA.

OA is A.

Me too thought that like instead of liked is a typo. Just wanted to make sure. Thx all.
