The three women, liberal activists who strongly support legislation in favor of civil rights and environmental protection, have consistently received labor’s unqualifying support.

A. have consistently received labor’s unqualifying support
B. are consistently receiving the unqualifying support of labor
C. have consistently received the unqualified support of labor
D. receive consistent and unqualified support by labor
E. are receiving consistent and unqualified support by labor

Go for C. In A - unqualifying support changes the meaning. B - present progressive are receiving is not required.

anothe reason for A is that "unqualifying" modifies support...thats what we are trying to convey..

in C unqualified seems to modify labor..

Okay D and E are for using 'support by' (unidiomatic).
C... it should be 'unqualfying support 'from' labor instead of 'of' labor. Out.
now it is between A and B

I have a gut feeling that it is A cause I am not sure why the use of Present continues tense in B isn't right ( please explain).

The three women, liberal activists who strongly support legislation in favor of civil rights and environmental protection, have consistently received labor’s unqualifying support.

A. have consistently received labor’s unqualifying support - seems OK
B. are consistently receiving the unqualifying support of labor - ing form WRONGC. have consistently received the unqualified support of labor - seems OK keep it....D. receive consistent and unqualified support by labor - receive & unqualified - TWO different forms of verbs-WRONGE. are receiving consistent and unqualified support by labor - ing WRONG

Debated over A & C....more poitns to A for brevity so A

The OA given for this one is C
I just don't understand why?
I picked A for this one.

I guess A is wrong because "labor’s unqualifying support " should be "labor’s unqualified support "

unqualified ( adj ) should modifies 'support'( noun)

C correctly does that

I picked A.

I think "the" is not wrong in C - "the" unqualified support...

will go for C..
A says labor's unqualifying support which means d suport is not qualified(wen compared to other types of support) n thus it changes d meaning while C correctly says unqualified support of the labor
