Looks like (D)

(A) - She is not run
(B) - does not intend to for public office
(C) - She is not run
(D) - a mouthful but correct
(E) - changes meaning

I choose (D). (B) is not a crime but (D) is clearer.

I go with D.

B and D are the only possible choices , however D is more clear .

Please explain

Why 'A' is not good for ellipsis??

and why 'D' is correct, despite not being parallel??. The verb forms are not parallel..

For the most part Kaplan sucks. However, in the Co's course book it gave a nice description on ellipsis.

Try making a clause out of the intended ellipsis.
starting w/ A.

She is not for political office... she is not what? She does not intend to run for political office. This part of the ellipsis is ok, but the first part is not.


D: she is not running for political office. she does not intend to run for political office. Perfect!
