Can someone help me understand the difference between the following things:

when to use "both Jan and Jake ran down the hallway" instead of "Jan and Jake ran down the hallway"

when to use "both Jan and Jake alike enjoy ice cream"

when to use "good" as oppose to "well." From my understanding "well" is used for health context?

when to use "between" versus "among"

thanks guys for your help....really appreciate it. I tried searching the forum for this but these words are too common so it was challenging to find a relevant topic.

Im not sure but I think both and alike are somewhat the same, so avoid using both in a sentence.

when do you use 'both'?

For example: 'both Jan and Jane ran down the hallway' OR 'Jan and Jane ran down the hallway'

what's the difference between the two examples above?
