I prefer choice B over choice A as it is concise.

Is "Which" really neccessary in this sentence ?Please explain why?

"Which" modifies Laos so incorrect.

B. officially called as the Grand Cambodian Pagoda, begun in A.D. 312, during the reign of Kirtivarman-II, and
Seems OK

C. which was officially called as the Grand Cambodian Pagoda, began in A.D. 312, during the reign of Kirtivarman-II, and
"Which" modifies Laos so incorrect.

D. officially called as the Grand Cambodian Pagoda and begun in A.D. 312, during the reign of Kirtivarman-II it
"and begun" does not make any sense.

E. officially called as the Grand Cambodian Pagoda, which was begun in A.D. 312, during the reign of Kirtivarman-II, and 
It is 'building of Pagoda" not "pagoda" which begun in AD 312. So incorrect.

This is more a questions of began vs begun rather than "which"

We use begun whenever it is a case of something continuing from the past into the present. It is past particple of begin.

Also begun is always used with have ,has, had etc... he has begun , they have begun ..etc

The past tense is began.

In this case the temple was built in the past, hence, the correct verb is began.

This leaves with A & C.

According to me C is better than A , as "and" is needed because " was completed five years later, should modify the temple, and not the ruler Kirthiman,

Really misread, but I think there are chances question is wrongly typed and all option had began instead of begun.

I was wondering if you could tell me whether it is "begun" or "began" in choices B, D, and E? If it is "began" in B then IMO B, however the use of "begun" seems wrong.
