C. A has an error, only one of the five is redundant. Only means only one, there is no need of one of..

Greatly influenced by the Protested missionary Samuel Kirkland, the Oneida was the only one of the five-nation Iroquois League who sided with the colonists during the American Revolution.
A.      was the only one of the five-nation Iroquois League who sided
B.      was alone of the five-nation Iroquois League when they sided
C.      alone among the five-nation Iroquois League sided
D.     were the only ones out of the five nations of Iroquois League in siding
E.      only of the five-nation Iroquois League had sided

I will go with C.

A)
the Oneida was the only one of the five-nation Iroquois League who sided with the colonists

here "who" modifies five-nation Iroquoise League.
--> five-nation Iroquoise League sided the colonists...
+
Oneida was only one of them..
Is this possible??
5 nations sided colonists..
Oneida was only one nation sided colonists..

Statement contradicting itself...

Will go with C.

alone "among the five-nation Iroquois League " sided colonists..

I bet this must be C..

Suresh but what does "alone among the five-nation Iroquois League sided colonists" mean. I feel there is something missing before "sided" it must be

"alone among the five-nation Iroquois League who/that sided colonists"

I feel A makes much more sense and who refereeing to "the Oneida"

I'd go with A)

C. alone among the five-nation Iroquois League sided

Bold doesn't really make sense.

Answer C;

A. was the only one of the five-nation Iroquois League who sided [ “Who” modifies “the Oneida” and paced far off it – eliminate it]
B. was alone of the five-nation Iroquois League when they sided [ They cannot refer to Singular “the Oneida” – eliminate it]
C. alone among the five-nation Iroquois League sided [Hold it]
D. were the only ones out of the five nations of Iroquois League in siding [ Verb “were” cannot refer to Singular “the Oneida” – eliminate it]
E. only of the five-nation Iroquois League had sided [ In correct Past Perfect – eliminate it]
