sorry about the cutoff, however u can eliminate E anyway

nobody gave a right choice so far

this question is a mess!

i am not native speaker so it does not make sense to me at all

Doesn't look like an official question, but I'll bite.

(C) for 2 reasons:
1) "had hardly entered" is correct usage ("had not hardly entered" is outright wrong)
2) "..made his having the piece performed impossible" sounds better than the alternate

To elaborate on 2), consider a simplified version:
"His busy work schedule made his having any spare time for the family impossible" (The impact was to HIS availability of time)
vs
"His busy work schedule made him having any spare time for the family impossible" (Here "made him having" is not coherent as it does not lend itself to the overall meaning very well)

'his' refers to Shoshtakovich's symphony

'him' can only refer back to Shoshtakovich

Even i opted for D but once read through the sentence its correctly said that his means he possesses somethig and the comment is on that possession
we comment on his having performed the show .
we comment on his show .

Him is incorrect .
