do it is always wrong. an action needs to be referred by so. do so is correct. do it is wrong

With A, it think there is an ambiguity with pronoun "it" - does it refer to "the site of..." or to "career".
My choice is E.

I read somewhere that in GMATLand "it" should replace a noun. In this case, it tries to replace part of a sentence and not a noun. Hence, the use of it is not correct.
