I picked D, assuming workshops is plural ... but "an intermediate course .. " is a put off ... I hope this is not an Official question ...

i will go for D.

it is a subject verb aggrement. Introduce should agree with Workshops. Also it is workshop which introduce college graduates to a broad spectrum of investment strategies capitalizing on intraday price volatility

B) for investors, which are risk-tolerant, and an essential step in preparation for a career in securities trading, introduce
C) for risk-tolerant investors and an essential step in preparation for a career in securities trading, introduces

E) in securities trading and an essential step in preparation for a career of risk-tolerate investors, introduce

Please explain your answers

D is correct as the subject is "The Active Trader evening workshops", which is plural.
If the subject were "The Active Trader of evening workshops", then it would be singular.

I intially thought it to be D, but after icandy's post and looking at "The Active Trader evening workshops, an intermediate course' again, ATEWs seems to require a singular verb

What is the OA

OA is D as per MGMAT and it is really weird that they did not care to offer an explanation in their OE

(C) While this answer avoids the original modifier error, it fails to correct the original problem with subject-verb agreement. The plural subject “workshops” does not agree with the singular verb “introduces.”

(D) CORRECT. This answer choice corrects the original inconsistency in modifiers by supplying the appropriate modifier “an essential step” that parallels the previously introduced modifier “an intermediate course.” The plural verb “introduce” agrees with the plural subject “workshops.” Finally, this answer choice uses the concise and direct construction "risk-tolerant investors."

K. I see a good agreement on D.

why do you guys think The Active Trader evening workshops is plural? Does the next word an intermediate course has no effect what so ever on the plurality or singularity. (or) Was I just over thinking? I reasoned that it is a course and hence singular. A series of workshops together called a course. I guess I got this wrong because I lost track of what is the subject. Subject clearly is ATW's.

I DIDNOT READ YOUR POST. I fully agree with what you are saying.

Now it needs to be corrected. Do you have a link to this question on the MANHATTAN GMAT forum?
