Agree with D (30 sec). Same reasoning as Syamee
"26 species" is seen as a singular noun and "includes" is right.

Alright. I'll try to explain my D stance.
I'll take a simpler example
The 2 persons that make up group A includes John and Marc
What makes up group A? We need 2 persons to make up a group and "make up" would be plural.
What includes John and Marc? Group A does and it is singular.

Back to original sentence:

The 26 species that make up a dolphin family in fact includes the animal known as killer whale, which can grow as big as 30 ft and is famous for its agresive hunting pods

the 26 species(plural) make up the dolphin family but it is the the dolphin family(singular) rather than the "26 species" which includes...
