Thanks for your response.

C- it changes the meaning of sentence. Orginal sentence talks about thousand of authors, but C talks about thousand of stories

E- I do not see this option as run on sentence.

tought choice between A and C ..
Will go with C ...as of the construction seems wrong ..
I dont think that C changes the origional meaning ..both choices focus on thousand of stories ,which is the subject ..

Literary critics have often said that all of the thousands of stories written by the world’s authors are essentially variations of six basic plot themes.

A. that all of the thousands of stories written by the world’s authors are essentially variations of
B. that the world’s thousands of stories written by authors of which all are essentially variations of
C. that the world’s thousands of stories written by the authors are essentially variations of
D. all of the thousands of stories written by the world’s authors to be essentially variations of
E. that the world’s authors have written thousands of stories which are essentially variations of

Can someone help me in finding out the right answer along with reason for the same

E - present continuous tense is not required.
D - that is missing

A,B --> wordy.

C - is the best.. concise.
removing "all" is not changing the meaning here. "all" is wordy here.

100 dogs are barking
all 100 dogs are barking --> is "all" adding any value here..????

B & C IMO are clearly wrong. World's thousands of stories. In the original sentence there is no possession of stories by the world.

D is wrong for using to be

E might seem ok on the first go but dont you guys think that is more apt here, given that there is no comma before which.

To me A is error free. LC have talked about books.

I believe to avoid passive voice in A, one might chose E but the usage of which kills the sentence
