I know its Controversial
the Blitz is the sudden attack by German during WW II
word came up only then.Infact WW II created 1500 new words.

A B are OUT
C also out due to Modifier Issue

Only D & E make Sense
but even then, they have modifier Problem

why does this sentence not need to follow the rule where the noun must immediately follow "Having been bombed for fifty-seven nights in a row".

To me, it reads that either the Blitz or refusal to surrender have been bombed for fifty seven nights in a row...
