Thats a real tough one. I think GMAT is coming up with some innovative ideas in sentence correction, which mostly cannot be solved only with the traditional rules listed in most of the 3rd party GMAT Sentence correction books.

A The brain growing is not parallel with neurons increasing.
B It seems that you take the brains off and put them in a stimulating environment
C The same as B
D It seems that the neurons learn new songs
E CORRECT - brain growth is parallel to increase in neurons. Additionally, this happen in mice that are put in the environment, and with the canaries that learn new songs. Now it is clear.

If it is right I accept a kudo! :lol:

In D 'they' has no clear referent.
E looks like the ans.
What is the OA?

First of all there must be paralelism between the brain growth in mice when placed ….. or the increase in canaries’ when they learn . They break up the paralelism.

Eliminate A,C and D for these reason look at the paralelism.

Second look at the ‘’they ‘’ in B and C does it refer to Canaries or neurons ambigious. Eliminate B.

Now look at E

Brain growth in mice that are placed in ……….. or increase in neurons in canaries that learn new songs. Perfect.

include X and Y should be the usage right?? or is the usage "include X or Y" correct? Can someone please explain?
