The last phrase, of the sentence is, '....to take action.' The underlined part must be parallel to this structure, hence between D & E, it's E.

The phrase, in E, '...the peaceful resolution to disputes and entitle the council to make non-binding recommendations...' keeps the structure parallel.

131. The UN distinguishes two sorts of Security Council resolution, those that deal with the peaceful resolution of disputes and entitle the council to make non-binding recommendations, and those that give the council broad powers to take action.

B. The UN distinguishes two sorts of Security Council resolutions, some that deal with the peaceful resolution of disputes and entitle the council to make non-binding recommendations, and
C. The UN distinguishes two sorts of Security Council resolutions, there are those that deal with the peaceful resolution of disputes and entitle the council to make non-binding recommendations, and
D. The UN distinguishes between two sorts of Security Council resolutions, those that deal on the peaceful resolution of disputes and entitle the council to make non-binding recommendations, and
E. The UN distinguishes between two sorts of Security Council resolution, those that deal with the peaceful resolution to disputes and entitle the council to make non-binding recommendations, and

OA is .

Please explain the difference between D and E options.

A and E come close. D is wrong for using 'deal on' .. 'deal with' is idiomatic.

E is parallel with the rest of the sentence ...

IMO E.

The question was that "resoultion to" is not the correct idiom. Now if every one here agrees that the correct idiom is "resoultion of" then we should not consider the parallelism of "resoultion to" & "entitle the council to make recommendation".

What do you say guys??? Whenever we want we can violate the principles of SC to justify the OA??

I think in D "two sorts of Security Council resolution[red]s[/red]" is wrong
