To be honest I can't understand the meaning of the sentence properly!
Eliminate B, C for unnecessary usage of being
Eliminate D as we don't need a conjunction rather whatever I understood from the topic we need a contrast.
Hence E
I've some problem to understand; please someone helps!

Don't you think her would be replaced by his?

The patient here, is actually the 'her'. and for that reason I think only 'D' came close to making any sense. All the other ones look like run-ons without the comma.
