This is really tough to explain. IMO, there should be a semicolon right after "1191".

B seems to be the best answer. E comes very close though.

Assuming there is a semicolon,

A -> a semicolon and the conjunction "and" together is not correct.
C -> seems to suggest that the inscription was marked after the remains were found, which is not correct.
D -> i couldnt explain this.
E -> all i can say here is E says the same thing is a lot more words.
