C for me.

B sounds like "output of the hear under <stress and intelectual vigor>".
so it's wrong.

D is out because effect of stress on the heart's output is not a
capabilty. Same goes for E.

C is the answer.

Please share the OA after the discussion is over.

IMO (C) is best.

(B) is wrong, because it changes the meaning, (how can you associate intellectual vigor with output of heart!!!)

B.

We have to identify the biological capabilites like intellectual vigor and the output of the heart .......

All the other choice start with words which cannot be the capabilities.

I meant C. please see my explaination. When the answer choice A is not given sometimes C becomes B. Sorry for this lousy excuse.

A is my FA (output of heart is the capability..no need to go for C where the compounding is just reversed, without any change in meaning)

I'll go with (C). Intellectual vigor and the output of the heart under stress are all biological functions. (B) in using heart's output under stress does not go so well with intellectual vigor following it.

here...i think "remain" is the key word...according to B..output will be considered singular...so 'remains' should follow....

I will go with C. I find A and C esentially the same with both correctly referring to biological capabilities -- heart output under stress and itellectual vigour but still C is unambiguous.
