This is what i use for for solving comparison/logic questions - Ask yourself - what is being compared?
 musical talent or other creative skills vs weak writing talents

Once that is nailed down - follow the logic and you will eliminate quite a few wrong answers

Between C and D I chose D because D sounds good to me. Rest have errors as explained in previous posts.

Besides I noticed one thing, not sure how it affects the overall sentence if someone could shed light on it.

what is the difference between  many participant s   and  many participant 
I see that only C has Many participant, while A & B haveMany participants.

I always read many cats or many vehichles but never read many cat or many vehicle.

Also in C - weak to a degree is wordy. Same as weak to an extent - these are frowned upon in GMAT land
