..unable to guess...someone plz explain
In A..if that refers to drop out rate...then comparsion will be between Srilankan schools & Asian Nation(but it is not nations that are dropping out)...
IMO C...I think B has typo(which is not required)

In that case all the options seems to be wrong.. C has "that which" that is too awkward,.. A looks better than other options, but as you say comparison is wrong..

I also made typo....

That's why I said 'C' ....has typo..which is not required...
may be I m wrong..someone explain..

A makes sense. Right comparison and concise
'That' refers correctly to the dropout rate

A makes sense. Right comparison and concise
'That' refers correctly to the dropout rate

In this case 'that' has to refer to the "dropout rate in schools" to be correct

if we write complete comparison:

The dropout rate in Srilankan Schools is 10 times the dropout rate in Asian Nations' School
or
The dropout rate in Srilankan schools is 10 times the dropout rate in schools of Asian Nation

in case of A, 'that' is referring to the underlined section.
I am just curious is it the right way to use 'that'. 'that' is splitting the earlier noun dropout rate in Srilankan School.

The dropout rate in Srilankan schools is 10 times that of Asian Nations

a) that of Asian nations
b) what the rate is in Asian nations
c) that which it is in Asian nations
d) Asian nations'
e) that which they are in Asian nations

Answer B

None seems to be correct.
In B, repetition of "the rate" (instead of "it") is awkward. But seems to be grammatically correct.

ALL RIGHT!!! WAT IS THIS QUESTIN TRYING TO CHECK
IT IS TRYING TO CHECK THE USE OF PRONOUN AND CONJUNCTION.LETS LOOK AT THE OPTIONS ONE BY ONE
a) that of Asian nations
THOUGH "THAT" CORRECTLY REFERS TO "DROUPOUT RATE"
THE USE OF "OF" IS INCORRECT,HAS TO BE "IN" .THE FOLLWOING SENTENCE
"THE DROPOUT RATE OF STUDENTS IN ASIAN NATIONS" IS STILL CORRECT
REASON: DROUPOUT RATE CANNOT BE A PROPERTY OF SCHOOLS,ITS A YEARLY PHENOMENON
WHICH TAKES PLACE IN SCHOOLS.
OUT

b) what the rate is in Asian nations
"WHAT" REFERS TO DROPOUT RATE
IS IN ASIAN NATIONS -CORRECTY COMPLETES THE STATEMENT
CORRECT
c) that which it is in Asian nations
"WHICH IT IS" IS NOT A CORRECT STRUCTURE SHOULD HAVE BEEN "THAT IN" OR "WHAT IT IS IN"..OUT
d) Asian nations'
THE DROPOUT RATE OF X IS 10 TIMES ASIA'S (DRPOUT RATE)....comparison is not parallel..OUT
e) that which they are in Asian nations
"THAT WHICH THEY ARE" IS WORDY,WRONG..OUT

I would go with B as A incorrectly implies - the drop out rate of Asian nations - instead of the drop out rates of schools in Asian nations.

IMO B.

A - incorrectly compares the drop out rate of schools to drop out rate of developing nations.

A for me

B seems to be awkward for me because "what the rate is" refers to the dropout rate ,while"That" in A is more concise.
