The original sentence has 2 problems :
1) A variety of approaches - is plural and so requires plural verb Include instead of Includes
2) Their reducing employment is awkward.

Also, looking at the non-underlined section of the sentence , it needs to parallel with ING form of actions.

C takes care of all these points .

I agree with LAKSH0328.

"approaches" is plural ,so we need plural verb "include"

we need to maintain parallelism by using " ing " farm (reducing, using, finding)

answer should be c

The OA is C.

Identifying the subject is here is quite tricky. There's a rule that says:

"One of" + NOUN (plural) + Plural verb
e.g. One of the apples are bad.

Thank you very much, can you give me a link to this rule?

Hi Denis,
I actually discovered this while I was answering GMAT prep. I got the question wrong then researched the official answer in this forum or Manhattan forum. So I wrote it down in my Verbal rules notebook. I think though that this is covered by Gayathari's SC notes which I downloaded from the verbal forum here. Try downloading it from the verbal link or if you can't I can send it to you. :)

the OA is C. the sentence has 02 problems i.e. parallelism and subject verb agreement. the subject of the verb "include" is approaches, the verb must be plural. hence A and B are out. using, reducing, and finding must be in a parallel form so D and E are out
