My choice would be B.
Few points..
1. the right idiom is 'tendency to' or tended to'. 'tendency/tended of' is wrong.
2. between 'tended to' and 'tendency to' - what is appropriate here is 'tendency to'.
hence B.

1. Agree with venksune in that "tendency of overshadowing" is not idiomatic. So, C and E goes off.
2. "misplaced guilt and guilt taken" is not parallel. It would be parallel with guilt that is misplace or taken. So, choosing D
