Hi Experts:
In the following question:
In the past several years, astronomers have detected more than 80 massive planets, most of them as large or larger than Jupiter, which circle other stars.
A. most of them as large or larger than Jupiter, which circle
B. most of them as large or larger than Jupiter and circling
C. most of them at least as large as Jupiter, circling
D. mostly at least as large as Jupiter, which circle
E. mostly as large or larger than Jupiter, circling

The draw is between C & D....OA is C.....C
Could any body explain as it seems the author's intent is 'Jupiter is the one which circle other stars' not most of the planets.....

I would say draw is between C & E

In the past several years, astronomers have detected more than 80 massive planets circling other stars.

Now

mostly at least as large as Jupiter Idiomatic comparision.

C wins.

If you choose D, the which clause will modify the closest noun, which is "Jupiter", and in that case it'll be circles not circle. and C is a parallel construction with "and", so circling is the verb for the subject "80 massive planets"

The draw is between C and E but I could not understand what is wrong in E. Can someone explain please?

E. mostly as large or larger than Jupiter, circling
or constructs a parallel expression, can be rewritten as: mostly as large Jupiter or larger than Jupiter. Now the problem is clear -> AS is missing! (as large as)

We need "as large as".
If any of the options lacks "as" after "as large", we should omit it.
