The pesticide Azocide, introduced to central valley farms three summers ago, has proven ineffective because other pesticides' chemical compositions already in wide use neutralizing its desired effect.

a. because other pesticides' chemical compositions already in wide use

b. because of the chemical compositions of the pesticides already in wide use

c. due to other pesticides already in wide use, whose chemical compositions have been

d. since, due to the chemical compositions of other pesticides already in use, those pesticides have been

e. because of other pesticides and their chemical compositions already in use, which have been

IMHO B

C and D are out because of usage of "due to".
E changes the meaning.
In A: It sounds like "chemical composition is in wide use"

B

Wow, that's helpful shalu.

I'd go with C here. With B, the sentence would read: The pesticide Azocide has proven ineffective because of the chemical compositions of the pesticides already in wide use neutralizing its desired effect.

This sentence doesn't make sense. "The pesticides already in wide use ARE nuetralizing its desired effect." Without 'are' or 'have been', the sentence is a fragment. With a cause and effect sentence like this, I would use 'due to' as well.

I will go wid "B" surely...

"Due to" equivalent of "Caused by" doesn't makes sense in C & D

"Are neutralizing" or "have been neutralizing" would have been correct if the sentence would have read as "The pesticide Azocide, introduced to central valley farms three summers ago, has proven ineffective because other pesticides....."

The presence of "because of" makes the difference in "B" and the rest part is in perfect sync....

Below sentence would make sense:
She is upset because teachers are complaining against her.
She is upset because of teacher complaining against her. :o

Below sentence would make sense:

That sentence doesn't make sense at all.

C makes sense after knowing its the answer - but overall all options are a bit off!
