'chemistry done' was sounding awkward, hence I rejected E. I was inclined towards E initially.

YEahh, maybe A is better than E.

The use of "his" in E is confusing.

I cannot copy and paste this file so I would have to deviate from my normal style.

First A sound awkward for a number of reasons. first the use of since always connotate time and therefore it is awkward to say since Robert Boyle . At best it best since robert Boyles's time. Seecondly' a new vision that Davy hope to found introduced at the end of this sugest that Davy is criticising his own vison which is not the case

B is the right choice. It corrects the problem in A by using after for since. secondly it correctly says that Davy hope to critique the Roberts Envisioning of a new Chemistry, which makes sense.

the other choice does not present a greater challege here except E but E also cannot be right because Davy cannot critiigue his own envisoning of new Chemistry

B has many problems, first and foremost the lack of parellelism. You shouldn't combine critique with envisioning. One is an ordinary noun, while the other is a gerund.

Secondly, B uses following to indicate the lapse of time since Doyle. Davy here is not doing a followup to anything.

A is a good choice. The use of since to indicate time passed after an event is acceptable. Robert Doyle embodies an event -- a happening -- and while appending time to it would be better, the phrase just the way it is looks fine to me. (Compare with since WWII.)

A for me too.

Critique and vision in choice A are parallel structures and as mentioned previously, "chemistry done" is unidiomatic in E

The OA is B.

What do we conclude - The OA is wrong or are we missing out on something.
Any suggestions please...

"and also" is redundant. "and" is sufficient to express the idea.

I don't agree with B.
