Maria,
I have a paid account on
ApplicantLab, but couldn't figure out how to ask this question there.
I've been at my current job for 2.5 years. My supervisor likes me quite a bit, but the nature of the job position doesn't allow me the opportunity to display a lot of the qualities that the schools are looking for. That said, I'm sure he'd give me a fine recommendation, but it might be short on specifics. At my prior job, where I worked for 3+ years I had many more opportunities to display leadership and other positive attributes, and my supervisor (who's still there) adored me. She'd no doubt give me a stellar recommendation.
Will it raise questions with AdComms if I choose a prior supervisor for my recommender as opposed to the one with whom I've worked for the last 2+ years?
Thanks!!
