Hey guys. Just wondering where you guys might chance me at to set realistic expectations.
Graduated from Top 50 US with a 2.66 GPA in Genetics with a Business Administration Minor (went through some mental health issues in college). Currently an Associate Scientist in Molecular Bio in a biotech startup for the past 3 years. During college I was involved in student government as a Senator, was VP of a cultural group, and was the finance chair of the whole university’s International festival.
After college in my work I believe I have skills not of my age/peer group(high exp/have learned many techniques) evidenced by multiple projects (scientific or functional). extracurricular wise I placed my mol bio team as 2nd in a sustainability challenge that included all the teams in the company, including C-Suite.
Currently trying to start a nonprofit but not yet quite established.
Pure demographics: 25M, Filipino that moved to US when I was 10. Current region is south US.
Recommender will be from Associate Director/Lead of my team which I expect to be great.
GRE:334 (167Verb, 167Quant), can be improved
Seeking to go into consulting after MBA then go seek C-suite position after more experience with biotech companies.
Targeting schools in M7 to T25

What an interesting journey you've been on! And I do agree, you seem to be in a different category today than you were back in UG.
That being said, the combo of low GPA, non feeder UG education will hold you back. Overcoming the GPA with your GRE is a great start--you won't need to increase it anymore for the schools you're targeting. Your story is going to be key -- I see some promising nuggets in here re: immigrant, non profit LT vision, and being able to explain UG with the mental health struggles. But it'll have to be linked very tightly.
M7 will help you the most if you're shooting for MBB--I say this as a 5 year McK alum. But there are many roads into consulting.
